Kenya lies on the equator on the East coast of Africa. It is surrounded by Ethiopia on the North, the Indian Ocean and Somalia on the East, Uganda on the West and Tanzania on the south. The high plateaus of Mount Kenya, along with the acidic soil provide excellent conditions for growing coffee plants.

Coffee from Kenya is well known for its intense flavor, full body, and pleasant aroma. It has a distinctly bright acidity and potent sweetness with a dry winy aftertaste. A large percentage of Kenyan coffee is produced by small cooperative societies rather than large Kenyan coffee estates. Kenya coffees are wet-processed and graded by the size of the bean.
