Buying Green Beans

We sell most of our coffee on spot. This means that the coffee is already available in the US ready to be purchased and shipped to you immediately or any time you prefer. We also encourage buying future shipments, feel free to call or email us for details.

Orders by new customers are sold on advance payment before shipment. We accept personal checks, Company checks, cashiers checks and PayPal.

All coffee orders and shipment are based on F.O.B. terms or ex warehouse. This means the coffee buyer is responsible for the freight cost, which will be included in your invoice under shipping charges. You can advice us on the particular trucking company that you usually use or have an account with. We try to get our customers the best shipping rate possible.

Carriers are not responsible for unloading, although many may assist. Make arrangements to unload your freight and remember that Kenyan green coffee comes in 60 kilogram’s burlap bags weighing approximately 132 pounds each. Please let us know if you need any special arrangements to be made.

If you request a shipment consolidation outside warehouse all fees at the warehouse are for the account of the consignee (Buyer). Your carrier is acting on your behave when receiving or signing for shipments. Carrier should be aware of shipment conditions before loading and should sign paperwork accordingly.

When shipment is received at the destination DO NOT sign the receipt unless all is in order. We ship our coffee carefully packed onto wooden pallet and shrink wrapped for protection. Incase, upon delivery you notice that one or more bags are ripped and the beans have been spilled, be sure to note this on the Bill of Lading before signing off, then contact us immediately and we will be glad to assist you in the claim process.

Green Coffee in the trucking industry is coded as CLASS 55. Check your freight bill for correct rating class; this can make a whole difference in pricing!

Each warehouse we use to store our coffee has its own policies, cut-off times and shipping guidelines. Please call or email us and we will keep you updated on the process of your order or shipment. If we receive your payment order by 4pm ET, most likely the coffee will be shipped on the next business day.

For our customers in Canada, we can organize to ship your coffee from our warehouses in Oakland California or New York whichever is closer to you. However, it is important that you make the necessary arrangements with your custom broker in advance to ensure a smooth and hitch-free border crossing.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question which is not covered above regarding shipping. We really appreciate your business and we welcome any suggestions or ideas that you may have. Email us at info@mtcoffees.com.
