Welcome to MTCC (Mbegu Tamu Coffee Company). We are a close-knit family of farmers and importers of Kenyan green coffees. We deeply understand the meaning and importance of sustainability. Therefore as growers we nurture our land to produce excellent coffee that provides a livelihood for our families and we grow this crop in a manner that protects our land for future generations to come.
Our main goal is to give back to our farmers who work hard in growing what we know as the most amazing coffee in the world. We strongly honor our farmers and their commitment to quality by roasting the beans to perfection through our local roaster in Brooklyn, Michigan. We invite you to celebrate and enjoy this fine coffee with us.
We strive to help other local coffee growers in Kenya to sell their coffee through “the Second window” which was introduced by the Kenyan Government. This allows farmers to bypass a central auction and negotiate better deals for their crop directly with buyers rather than having a chain of middlemen who always take away from their income.
MTCC brings farmers and roasters together by facilitating direct communication, differentiation, and better business practices for both sides of the supply chain. We believe with the foundation of transparency, training for the coffee farmers, excellent quality product, Aid through Trade, accountability, and traceability we will be able to help our farmers’ secure better prices for their product as well as to fight poverty.
